The Florence Y’alls earned four selections for the 2024 Frontier League All-Star Game that takes place in Quebec, Canada on July 17.
The Y’alls will send outfielders TJ Reeves and Hank Zeisler, catcher Sergio Gutierrez and third baseman Brian Fuentes to the game. Reeves and Zeisler were announced as starters for the West Division and Gutierrez and Fuentes will fill in as reserves.
Reeves and Zeisler lead the team in multiple offensive categories including; batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, RBIs, home runs, doubles and triples.
Zeisler is in the top 10 of the Frontier League in batting average (.330) and RBI (39). Reeves is first in the league in home runs (12) and second in RBI (48).
Fuentes has provided solid defense at the hot corner played in every single game this season, leading the team in walks with 29 and collecting 33 RBI. Gutierrez has been the primary catcher for Florence all season. The switch-hitter has provided some pop with his bat from both sides of the plate with five home runs.
Florence is currently 22-28 and sits in sixth place in the West Division, 11 games out of first place Washington. They return to action on Tuesday for a three-game series at New Jersey. The Y’alls host Washington this upcoming weekend from July 12-14 before the All-Star break.
