UC HEALTH STADIUM COVID-19 POLICY
The Florence Y’alls are extremely excited to begin an abbreviated 2020 season. As always, our goal will be to provide family, friendly affordable entertainment for everyone! As we welcome our amazing fans back to UC Health Stadium, please be aware that it is our duty and mission to keep anyone that enters our ballpark as safe as possible by using the rules and regulations set below; using recommendations set by the state of Kentucky, the City of Florence, as well the CDC.
What is the Covid-19 virus?
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a highly transmissible respiratory disease that can result in serious illness or death. COVID-19 is a new coronavirus for which there is not yet a vaccine. Current COVID-19 cases have reported a wide range of symptoms including:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of Breath
- FatigueHeadache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
COVID-19 is spread person to person through exposure to respiratory droplets from an infected person or from touching contaminated surfaces and then touching eyes, nose, or mouth.
- TESTING PLAN - Any employee with COVID-19 symptoms will be tested by a health care professional for COVID-19 symptoms within the time frame of 36 hours. If an employee tests positive, the Florence Y’alls will immediately notify the Boone County Public Health Department.
- Contact Notification Responsibilities- The Y’alls will assist public health officials if an employee tests positive or is exposed to the COVID-19 virus. This assistance includes:
- Educate and Train Employees- The Y’alls will train all employees as well as all vendors entering UC Health Stadium regarding healthy at work protocols and guidelines.
- Temperature Screenings- The Florence Y’alls will ensure daily that each employee does not have a fever. On site temperature screenings will be given to each staff member using no-contact digital thermometers. Staff members will not begin a shift with a fever above 100.4 F.
- Face Masks- Each Y’alls staff member will be required to wear a face mask for the entirety of each shift.
- Gloves- Gloves will be warn as needed
PRE EVENT GUIDELINES
- Up to a 15 person “Clean Team” will sanitize the following aspects of the stadium with Disinfectant or similar product prior to games and events.
- Stadium Seating bowl
- Elevators / Buttons
- Suites furniture-, railings, countertops and door handles
- Concessions-countertops, condiment stations and credit card readers
- Seating Bowl handrails
- Clubhouse, Dugouts and player access areas
- Restrooms- soap and paper towel dispensers, sinks, hand railings, stall doors and urinal handles
- Stanchions / bicycle railings
- An isolation room will be designed in each clubhouse.
- The entire clubhouse will be disinfected daily by the clubhouse manager
DURING THE GAME
- Fans will get their temperature taken before entering UC Health Stadium and must have a temperature below 100.4.
- Face masks are to be worn into the stadium, in line for concessions and bar, in the team shop, and walking around the concourse not socially distanced. Fans may take off their mask once seated in their socially distanced seat.
- Signage posted at entrance to facility to remind staff and occupants to maintain 6-foot social distance while inside the facility. Fans not adhering to social distancing guidelines will be asked by event staff to adhere to policies.
- Fans are encouraged to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. If fans are experiencing symptoms or are running a fever above 100.4 degrees, and encourage them to refrain from attending the event.
- Directional arrows placed on concourse to alleviate close contact between fans
- No mingling or gatherings of fans especially on the concourse will be allowed in UC Health Stadium at any time or under any circumstances
- Violators will be asked to leave UC Health Stadium immediately by security personnel “local police”
- Attendees will only have access to the seating bowl when not in line for concessions or restrooms
- All common areas will be closed such as the kid zones and open gathering areas
- Bathroom doors will be propped open to eliminate high touch areas
- PA announcements will be made throughout the game reminding people to abide by social distancing guidelines
- If a fan is visibly sick or showing COVID-19, they will be instructed to visit First Aid/EMS for further evaluation.
- Interactions with players, characters, etc. will be limited by social distancing
- All in between- inning promotions will abide by proper social distancing guidelines as well as equipment will be sanitized afterwards
- The team store will be limited to a restricted amount of people, to ensure proper social distancing
- Game Programs will be available digitally online
Concessions
- Following standard health codes should keep most food issues under control. COVID-19 is not a food-spread virus.
- Refills at concessions will not be available for 2020 season
- All food service workers will ALWAYS wear masks and gloves.
- Plexiglass or a similar barrier will be placed at each checkout counter, concourse carts, grill areas, etc.
- Markers will be placed on the ground every 6 feet to ensure proper social distancing
- Hand Sanitizer will be provided at each customer point of contact
- No “cash only” points of sale. Touchless purchases will be encouraged
- Communal condiment areas have been removed for individual packet condiments
- Buffet style food for games will be prohibited. All food will be served directly to each customer.
- Where feasible concessions will offer prepackaged food and beverages to limit any possible exposure
Player/Coach Safety/Team Personnel
- Temperatures will be recorded daily and symptoms to be monitored by team trainer. Documentation records are to be kept by the Y’alls athletic trainer.
- Player locker rooms are to be closed for use except for bathrooms per state of Kentucky Health Department recommendations.
- Training room capacity limited to one player at a time receiving treatment.
- Designated early work times will be implemented for position players to limit capacity of batting cage areas.
- Batting cages to be retracted and used as holding area for home team during visitors batting practice
- Dugout and Bullpens to be marked off designating social distancing. Additional seating will be installed in foul territory to allow for player social distancing.
- Player access to field is limited to bullpen entrance only to minimize contact with public.
- If a player, coach, or team personnel member displays symptoms, he/she will be referred to team physician for further examination.
- No spitting
- No hand licking / high fives
Ticketing
- Seating capacity within the seating bowl will be reduced to comply with current state and local capacity guidelines.
- At entry, fans are asked to hold their ticket or phone while it is scanned. We ask that tickets do not be handed to the ticket taker.
- Patio tables and hospitality decks will operate at approximately 50% capacity to allow proper distance between tables.
- Box office counters and equipment will be regularly sanitized
- Fans will be encouraged to purchase tickets online and have them digitally delivered to their phone.
